Shvet‐kutaja (Wrightia tinctoria)
Wrightia tinctoria is a small deciduous tree belonging to the family Apocayanaceae. It is distributed in India, Australia, Myanmar, Nepal, and Timor, Vietnam. Within India, it is found in most of the peninsular and central India except northern and northeastern states. Traditionally, the plant is used to treat seizures, wounds, jaundice, leukaemia, gynaecological disorders, toothache, headache, dandruff, diarrhoea and skin disorders like psoriasis, eczema, scabies etc. The phytochemical studies have shown that the presence of alkaloids, triterpenoids, steroids, flavonoids, lipids and carbohydrates. W.tinctoria showed wide spectrum of pharmacological activities on anti-microbial, anti-psoriatic, anti-diarrhoeal, anti-helminthic, anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory analgesic, anti-diabetic, diuretic, hepatoprotective and anti-ulcer properties.
Aragvadh (Cassia fistula)
Aragvadha (Cassia fistula Linn.) is a plant drug which is being used in the medicines in Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha systems of medicine since ages. It has good ornamental and medicinal value. It is mentioned to be useful in the diseases like fever, skin disorders, rheumatic disorders etc and acts as anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic etc. The pharmacological potential of Cassia fistula Linn is enumerated with the modern day researches.
Durva (Cynodon dactylon)
Cynodon dactylon possesses immense medicinal value and may be applied both externally as well as internally. The plant possesses antiviral and antimicrobial activity. Decoctions of root are used in secondary syphilis and irritation of urinary organs. The plant is astringent, sweet, cooling, haemostatic, depurative, vulnerary, constipating, diuretic and tonic and is useful in impaired conditions of pitta and kapha, hyperdipsia, burning sensation, haemoptysis, haematuria, haemorrhages, wounds, leprosy, diarrhoea, dysentery, conjunctivitis, vomiting.
Madhuyashti (G. glabra)
Yashtimadhu revitalizes hair follicles (keshya), helps restore natural hair color (varnakrit), is anti-inflammatory (shotha-apaha), and anti-toxic / anti-allergic (vishapaha). It protects skin and hair against oxidative processes and promotes hair growth.
Avalguja (Psoralea corylifolia)
Psoralea corylifolia is belongs to Fabaceae family, it is an endangered and medicinally important plant grows throughout India. It has multifarious uses as it is an important component of Ayurvedic as well as Allopathic system of medicines. It has been used in the treatment of eczema and hair loss. Roots of the plant are useful in dental caries, fruits are laxative, aphrodisiac, and are used for the treatment of leucoderma, leprosy and in inflammatory diseases of the skin and leaves are good for the treatment of diarrhoea.
